Sleeping Beauty

She is the prettiest girl on the planet, but she’s the most beautiful creature alive when she sleeps.

When she’s awake, she’s confident, independent, fierce. She makes decisions and fights tooth and nail for them. She leads with passion while remaining empathetic towards those who follow her. Although she dresses up in ways that flaunt her femininity, she is tough, driven, capable.

But I love watching her the most when she sleeps, just like now.

She’s in one of my shirts, one that is too big on her, a clumsy but sexy fit. Her hair, usually without a strand out of place, is in full disarray in its tumble across my pillows. Her normally hard expression is replaced by a relaxed one, and I chuckle as I see her drool a little bit in her sleep.

Here, in my room, she is unstressed, vulnerable, real. She is ravishing in her wakefulness, but simply gorgeous in her slumber.

And she is mine.
