Fly

Long have my people been cast out, cast aside, cast away. Long have my people been told that they are a nuisance. Long have my people borne the brunt of a war with dragons – a war they did not start, but a war where they were slaughtered as its sacrificial lambs.

But enough is enough.

We have forged a pact with the dragons themselves, who have promised us vengeance in return for their freedom. We cared not if their freedom meant the destruction of the Capital – not when it was the Capital that threw us out like dogs and forced us to fend for ourselves in the harshness of what lies outside. All for what? An old, deep-seated wound that matters not in this post-apocalyptic world? Oh, the petty foibles of Man.

Today, we will soar to the heavens and destroy them. It is a plan one hundred years in the making, and today, it bears such delicious fruit.

Today, we make the attack on the Capital. Today, we avenge our fallen brothers and sisters. Today, we fight and cower no more.

Today, we fly.
