Driving You Home

“This is me. Thank you for the ride.”

“Oh, yeah, sure. Happy to drive you home any time!”

“Thanks.”

“So, uh… are you going to the party tomorrow?”

“Maybe.”

Yeah, I’m not sure myself. The bosses will be there, after all. I’m not sure whether it will be fun to see them all relaxed… or downright terrifying. I’m conflicted.”

“I get you.”

“I mean, it’s a Christmas party. I think there will be a raffle too. Two TVs, I heard.”

“Yeah.”

“I could probably use a new TV. Would go well with my new room. I told you about my recent move, right?”

“No.”

“Oh, well, yeah. I moved east. It takes me an hour to get to work now. Pain in the butt, but I’ll get used to it, I’m sure.”

“You’re pretty far from home, then.”

“Hahaha… well, I know you don’t have a car. Plus I love driving, as you very well know. Anyway, the highway should be clear tonight; I’ll get home in no time.”

“Mmm.”

“Yeah, so as I was saying, new place. New room, plus, oh! A new desk! Custom-made, really sleek. Had to do the varnishing myself though. I also just ordered this new graphi-”

“Can we make out now?”

A grin. “Okay.”
